Today is Wednesday! Happy hump day ~ We are dead in the middle of the week y’all. Rather than looking ahead or looking backward, let’s stay right here and take in all the magick of Wednesday. Today is ruled by Mercury, the messenger of the gods. He rules our thoughts, mind, and transportation. The planet that governs our nervous system, respiratory system, and ALL forms of communication: phone calls, social media, email, letters, writing, journaling, speaking, and using your voice. The moon is also in Gemini tonight. Gemini and Virgo are ruled by Mercury. Are you doing a thousand things at once today? I know I am … but hey! Mercury is soothing our restless minds with some productivity. Here are some spells to help you finalllllly send that message, freeze that gossip, or use your voice!

There’s probably somebody you want or need to talk to. Wednesday (mercredi in French) is Mercury’s Day, so ask the fleet-footed god of communication for help.
First, determine what you want or need to tell the person with whom you need to communicate. Write it down, “speaking” clearly and courteously. Set up your altar with a blue (the color of the throat chakra = communication) candle and a clean sheet of paper.
Using this paper, fold a paper airplane. Write your name, the name of Mercury, and the person you want to communicate with on one side of the paper airplane. Draw arrows from your name to Mercury to the person’s name. On the other side of the paper airplane, write what you want to say. Launch the paper airplane in the air. Visualize the person receiving your message and nodding. Visualize your conversation. When you finish, burn the airplane (safely) and bury the ashes outside.

Freezing Spell
Write down a rumor or piece of slander you want to put a stop to on a small slip of paper. Roll it up as small as possible. Put it in a plastic cup or bottle and cover it with water completely. Hold the cup or bottle in your hand and say:
Frozen solid, icy cold,
Stop this story from being told.
Place the cup or bottle in the freezer overnight and let it freeze solid. Leave it there until the gossip dies down or the situation passes, then dump it out and recycle the materials.
If you live in a cold part of the world, you can freeze the bottle outside instead of in the freezer.
